  • Why practice Desk Yoga?

    Regular practice of yoga at work will help your body take a break from frequent positioning. It will help improve posture over time and will also help improve circulation, increase energy and improve overall physical health.

  • Why practice Desk Meditation?

    Daily immersion into a state of peace and tranquility with our 'at your desk' meditation will help reduce stress, anxiety and work-related pressures. Issues such as mental strain, burnout and fatigue can be greatly alleviated by regular sessions of meditation. 

  • Why are sessions held everyday?

    It is a widely held fact that immersion in daily meditation and simple yoga techniques work much better to ensure continuous long term beneficial effects rather than what is gained from just occasional practice or from irregular use of  meditation apps.

  • What are the benefits of daily practice?

    When practiced daily, the meditation and yoga technqiues will boost the immune system and give the body a huge amount of recuperation due to the immense level of rest the body reaches during meditation. The rest is different to sleep and rests the central nervous system on a deep level.

  • How do I know if I am doing it right?

    Both the desk yoga and desk meditation are guided and all practioners can ask any questions via our online chat or email info@happymindsatwork.com. You will know you are practicing correctly when you start to feel much calmer immediately after the sessions. 

  • Where do the techniques come from?

    The techniques of desk meditation and yoga both originate from the Vedic system from ancient India. These technqiues have been tried and tested for thousands of years and a wealth of research has been covered on the subjects in contemporary times.   • What is the rest period at the end of the meditation for?

    The rest period at the end of the meditation sessions is to ensure the body can come up out of the depths of inner immersion slowly. This helps the mind maintain the level of calmness that it reached during the session.

  • Can I become more healthy from my practice?

    Daily practice of the desk meditation and yoga will certainly help improve health on many levels from mental health to improved circulation and energy levels, better sleep, balanced blood pressure, improved heart health and a daily release of toxins out of the system.

  • Will my mental wellbeing be improved?

    Mental wellbeing will be greatly improved by following an expert guided session. The daily reduction in stress levels from within the system allow for a mind that can enliven its true potential and inner happiness.

  • Are these techniques scientifically proven?

    All techniques used by Happy Minds At Work have been scientifically proven in hundreds of studies completed since the 1960's across the world. Evidence can be found in our online benefits section or in the many peer reviewed science journals which have covered the subject.

  • Why is lunchtime a good time to practice?

    Lunchtime is the mid point in the day when stress can start to take hold. Fatigue starts to set in by mid day, deep within the system due to concentration. By following a daily schedule of meditation and yoga at the mid-point of the day, the rest of the day at work becomes more productive and proactive, with employees gaining more energy, enthusiasm and motivation.

  • Does the practice have any negative effects?

    There are no known negative effects that are caused by practicing the systems taught and guided by Happy Minds At Work.

  • Do the sessions improve work productivity?

    The daily yoga and meditation sessions ensure that an indivdual's central nervous system experiences a break from routine. It then gains a deep state of rest from within. This time out break for the mind in the middle of the day allows the mind to become more energetic and sharp, more focused, alert, engaged and motivated, thus improving work productivity dramatically. 

  • How does a company benefit?

    Organisations will benefit from a workforce that is motivated, productive, happy, engaged and creative. There is no limit to the benefit an organisation can gain from promoting wellbeing sessions such as these. By offering such a great duty of care for all its employees, businesses in return gain high productivity and performance from their employees and the ability to retain great staff and attracts new talent.

  • Is this a religious based activity?

    Although the systems guided by Happy minds At Work originate from the ancient Vedic Civilization of India, it has no religious requirements or necessities and will work for anyone from any background, culture or faith.

  • Are the sessions all-inclusive?

    As the sessions are seated, they are all inclusive and will benefit those with a physical disability. The desk meditation will also be highly effective for any blind practitioners.

  • Can my family join in?

    We can arrange with your company to extend the wellbeing offering to employee family members also, in order that they can benefit too.

  • Should I practice if I feel unwell?

    If you feel unwell, go with how you body feels, for the meditation expecially, research has shown that daily immersion into the calmness and tranquility of meditation can help speed up recovery and boost the immune system.

  • Are there any tips for practice?

    Stay relaxed and enjoy the sessions. Allow the team of experts to guide you through each programme. Individual progress will be gained over time, however many people experience calmness and deep peace almost immediately when practicing these guided techniques.

  • Are there benefits to regular practice?

    Regular practice will help you dissolve your stress away continually, it will help improve your day to day health and will help you fulill the true potential of your mind that lies within. When a company offers a once a month counsellor, a meditation app or a wellbeing course, it often doesn't have such a huge beneficial impact on the mental state in the same way that regular guided live sesisons from a team of experts can. Employees can drop in and out of live sessions when they like or join in everyday. Our sessions also act like a prompt to ensure you take a bit of time out to reduce your stress.

  • Can I join in everyday?

    Everyone is welcome to join in everyday, sessions run continuously from 12.30pm to 2.00pm mon-fri.

  • What are the webinars based on?

    Our weekly webinars are based on Mental Health Awareness, Motivation At Work, Wellbeing in the Workplace, How To Fulfill Your True Potential, Making Creatives More Creative and much more.

  • What are the eLearning Courses based on?

    Our eLearning Courses allow employees to learn a bit more about motivation and how the mind works, Workplace Culture, Wellbeing and much more. Each course takes around an hour to complete and counts towards an hour of your year's CPD declaration if a declaration is required.

  • Do I need any equipment to join in?

    No equipment of prior knowledge is required to join in and benefit, computer speakers or headphones work well to listen to the instructor guide you through the session.

  • Are the same techniques practiced every time?

    We guide our clients through the same daily sessions because we use only the best techniques from the plethora of wellbeing knowledge available. All  our instructors have been practicing and teaching these techniques themselves for many years, have been extensively trained and work everyday to ensure that each client gets the best service possible.
